About the Club

Less ego. More humility.

Carbon is a private club, restaurant and cigar lounge in Clayton, Missouri, opened in 2023 for people who value great company, discretion, and time well spent.

The idea

A room where nobody is performing.

Carbon began with a simple observation: the best nights happen in small rooms among people who have nothing to prove. So the room was built small on purpose, and the door was built to stay closed.

Membership is by invitation only. Every member holds two invitations to offer to the people they believe will add to the room — and every seat inside traces back, invitation by invitation, to the founding members who sat down first.

Our members are a quiet mix of executives, entrepreneurs and athletes. What they have in common is not a title. It is how they treat the person pouring their drink.

Be a good human

No one likes an arsehole, and life is too short to be surrounded by them. Be kind and sincere in the company of other members.

Show respect

Treat others as you expect to be treated — no judgment, no harassment, and respect for everyone's space.

Chesterfields under pearl strands. A wall of numbered member lockers where your own bottle waits behind the bar, poured only for you and your guests.

Chef-driven food and a serious bar at preferred member pricing. Buy the bottle you love and keep it here.

The Cigar Room

Member-owned, rolled tableside

Carbon does not store or sell tobacco onsite or online. Bring your own; the room, the light and the company are ours.

Private Dining

The table for the nights that matter

Dinners, tastings, the Founders Table. Small enough that you know everyone in the room.

House rules

Simple, and kept

Members and their guests only, 21 and older, without exception.
Two invitations per member. Offered, never sold.
Membership is personal. Transfers only with the club's approval.
What happens in the room stays in the room. Photographs of other members are never posted.
Tier pricing rises as Carbon grows. Early members are rewarded for arriving first.

Founding tiers were priced to reward the members who arrived first. Each tier that fills raises the entry price for the next. Your place in the room appreciates against it. Pricing is shared privately by the concierge, in conversation.
